Tallahassee, FL (AHN) - The Florida Democratic Party asked the FBI on Wednesday to investigate allegations of illegal business practices and violations of campaign finance laws against Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL).
Buchanan, who has interests in 25 auto dealerships, has been accused by former employees of engaging in fraudulent business practices and forcing them to contribute to his 2006 election campaign.
Party Communications Director Eric Jotkoff called the allegations "serious charges" in a statement on the party's website.
...
Joe Kezer, a former finance director at Buchanan's Sarasota Ford dealership, filed a lawsuit in May accusing the first-term congressman of dismissing and retaliating against him because he had refused to participate in questionable business practices.
Questionable BUSINESS practice? While investigating, perhaps the FBI should also determine whether Buchanan
forced his employees to
vote via mail-in (absentee) ballots.
