Will The Major Media Finally Cover The Electronic Election Fraud Issue?

by Bob Fitrakis and Harvey Wasserman
May 15, 2006
From: http://www.freepress.org/departments/display/19/2006/1964That the presidential elections of 2000 and 2004 were stolen has become an article of faith for millions of mainstream Americans. But there has been barely a whiff of coverage in the major media about any problems with the electronic voting machines that made those thefts possible---until now.

A recent OpEdNews/Zogby People's poll ( http://tinyurl.com/hgkgl) of Pennsylvania residents, found that “39% said that the 2004 election was stolen. 54% said it was legitimate. But let’s look at the demographics on this question. Of the people who watch Fox news as their primary source of TV news, one half of one percent believe it was stolen and 99% believe it was legitimate. Among people who watched ANY other news source but FOX, more felt the election was stolen than legitimate. The numbers varied dramatically.”

Here, from that poll, are the stations listed as first choice by respondents and the percentage of respondents who thought the election was stolen: CNN 70%; MSNBC 65%; CBS 64%; ABC 56%; Other 56%; NBC 49%; FOX 0.5%.

With 99% of Fox viewers believing that the election was “legitimate,” only the constant propaganda of Rupert Murdoch’s disinformation campaign stands in the way of a majority of Americans coming to grips with the reality of two consecutive stolen elections.

2. Diebold's defense:
"For there to be a problem here, you're basically assuming a premise where you have some evil and nefarious election officials who would sneak in and introduce a piece of software," says Diebold's David Bear. "I don't believe these evil elections people exist."

Can they say Ken Blackwell or Jeb Bush or Glenda Hood or Katherine Harris? Opps, I guess Jeb isnt an election official.

4. No. To admit it now would be to admit complicity then. (NT)

6. Catch 22...
They can't quite figure out how to tell the story without admitting they screwed up by not covering it from the beginning.

Thank Gawd for the internet, 'cause here the story is being uncovered... 'course some people are working to cover it up as we uncover it, but those others are failing.

The issue is of such import that I couldn't care less about someone's background, only what are they doing today to help the cause.

IOW, if the M$M finally covered this story to the hilt, I'd forgive them their past sins.

7. I'd forgive the M$M, Dem's and Rep's that had
their name hijacked from this group of Neocons in the Whitehouse, if they all started discussions ON TV about the vote stealing machines.

9. "how to tell the story without admitting they screwed up"
How did they do the Downing Street Memos? They claimed they'd already covered them and it
was old news?

Here Danny Schechter discusses a NYT op-ed piece about Katherine Harris's Florida voter purge,
a story the NYT refused to cover when it was current.

5. K&R...major local media in some places is, Indianapolis, IN e.g.
...the coverage there has been terrific. Some suburban Chicago papers have taken on the task. You see it in small town papers frequently, just responding to events. The Big city papers, the networks...when they do this, we'll know that "the fix is in", it will be bed time for bonzo on that funky ranch without any horses or live stock.

Excellent post...
