Nader, for all his faults, at least seems to be trying to help....
Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 10:26 PM by familydoctor
For me, right now, Kerry un-conceding is not my concern.
For me, this is all about getting the truth out and getting real
nation wide reform in election accountability. Hopefully,
if widespread fraud is exposed it will do a few things:

1.) Wake up the media to the fact the RW has become
essentially a crime family.
2.) Wake up everyone so as to fix the voting process.
A radical overhaul is needed to address voter intimidation,
vote suppression, vote spoilage, and outright vote fraud.
3.) Blacken Bush's eye and render him ineffectual.

PRESS ADVISORY
Ralph Nader Holds Press Conference in Washington, DC 1:00 PM, November 10, 2004
Was Every Vote Counted Accurately?
Nader/Camejo Goes Forward with Hand Recount in New Hampshire

Washington, DC: Independent Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader will be holding a press conference at 1:00 in at 1616 P Street, NW, 7th Floor. The press conference will focus on widespread reports of voting problems that raise questions about vote counting. The United States needs to face up to serious shortcomings in its electoral process so that we can have trust in the results of the vote.

Nader/Camejo has requested a hand recount of the vote in New Hampshire because of reports of anomalies favoring President Bush in towns that used the Diebold AccuVote optical scan machines. A hand recount will either rule out the possibility of machine error or show a discrepancy in the Diebold machine and the actual vote—either way voters need to know. To review the request for a hand recount in New Hampshire visit www.VoteNader.org. Similar inexplicable results have been found in other states, including Ohio. Nader has called on John Kerry to demand that every vote be counted accurately. His campaign has remained strangely silent on the matter.

This election has highlighted the need for electoral reform including federal standards for federal offices and non-partisan administration of the elections from ballot access, through debate participation and to how the vote is cast and counted.

Where: 1616 P Street, NW
Washington, DC 20036

When: 1:00 PM, November 10, 2004

4. Point or no point, I have lost all respect for him after...
he started accepting republican funds to prop up his run for office.

Now he suddenly feels so morally offended?? Oh please, now he's just trying to remain in the publics eye with some sort of concept of relevancy.

I once had nothing but respect for the man, now it's nothing but shame.

So he now has a new cause, like the old saying goes, "even a broken clock is right twice a day".

We need new blood with heart to fight the good fight.

7. Why doesn't Kerry comply???
Can't he just ask for this without unconceding yet??? Come on - step forward!! The Repubs would just die seeing Kerry/Nader together after they tried to help get him on the ballot!!! Oh the irony...

5. No one is perfect and he didn't change Kerry's vote that we know of...so
Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 10:46 PM by KoKo01
maybe this is one issue he can redeem himself on. Anything, that brings BBV to light is good...even if the messenger has lost favor along the way.

Who hasn't. We've trashed Clinton, Gore and now Kerry. Give Nader a break on this one.. if he pulls through and focuses, and makes it about the issue of BBV and not himself it's good...

8. I like your post.
But:

1) The major media is essentially part of that crime family (it pays well -- besides they are afraid).

2) The majority of the country either doesn't care (doesn't vote) or this works for them.

3) The neo-cons and their supporters are effectively a well disciplined army, and they will (largely) have their way, no matter how bad they look -- and no matter how bad it looks. After all, there has been a huge amount of stuff to make these guys look bad, and it has done very little harm to them. And, yeah, much of it hasn't "gotten out", but anybody who made even a little effort could discover it. -- Besides the media is going to be unreceptive to the "message".

Still, I very much agree that we need to be "getting the truth out and getting real nation wide reform in election accountability". And working with anyone else who will legitimately (and more or less selflessly) pursue the common interest is a good idea.

But let's not underestimate our difficulties. We will have to battle corruption, self interest, fear, willful ignorance (and blindness), apathy and a wide range of powerful interests (etc, etc) the whole way.
