WP: 'Fired Up' Kerry Returning to Senate
Democrat John F. Kerry plans to use his Senate seat and long lists of supporters to remain a major voice in American politics despite losing the presidential race last Tuesday, and he is assessing the feasibility of trying again in 2008, friends and aides said yesterday.

Kerry will attend a post-election lame-duck Senate session that begins next week and has said he is "fired up" to play a highly visible role, the friends and aides said.

Aides said Kerry is relishing the prospect of renewed combat with President Bush, fighting such measures as the president's proposal to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling. Kerry has spent most of the past two years on the campaign trail, meaning that his return to Capitol Hill will be something of a reintroduction to colleagues.

-- Its looking less and less likely he has anything up his sleeve.

2. Powerless along with the other powerless in congress, the power is in
the hands of the people, unfortunately they give it to a few power hungry persons who only has self interest. Kerry has spent his shot.

22. please cease the hostile questions
I'm not Kerry, I'm not his speechwriter, I don't know what I want him to say, but I do think he needs to be out in public giving us some kind of reassurance. I feel totally abandoned.

4. from the way i look at it, kerry must have a big empty in his heart ...
how can he muster courage to face his colleagues in the senate, or us the American electorate after he so wimpily gave up on a complete vote count, i don't know.

This act of a roaring lion ready to face bush again is either the act of a broken hearted man trying to hide his broken heartedness, or he is just as blind as the emperor who wears no clothes and i don't know which it is.

5. Folks, let's permit this to play out
It's only been a week since the "election".

Ohio still hasn't counted their provisional votes yet.

The news media has only just discovered this story, thanks to Keith Olberman and Don Imus.

Give the pot time to boil over.

Then, if Kerry wimps out, we can kick his ass in good conscience.

8. What's the rush?
I'd prefer to make up my mind after all the shit has hit the fan. I don't think that's being in denial at all.

There is no pressing need for us to hate John Kerry, and I'm not going to jump just because some of us are angry.

Right now, Team Bush has the advantage. Once a strong case has been built for electoral fraud both in law and public, we'll see what they do. And what John Kerry will do.

But bitching and griping? I'll save my anger for the actual fight.

10. I am not jumping, I am staying and fighting, he is the one that jumped
what's the RUSH? The jerk CONCEDED hours after his own VP came out and said "every vote will be counted"

I guess Mark Twain was right, Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

12. Cut the personal bullshit
If you want to go off half-cocked, that's your right, but don't try to sign me up for your circular firing squad.

The "Enemy" is the Right Wing.

9. I agree with you. Seems like a LIFETIME to us but it's only been a week
Im as distressed as anyone about the silence from JK/JE (JE has his own problems right now) but Im willing to let this run it's course. Im baffled about the recount fund. They saw ahead of time 'something' may happen and started a fund to challenge the election. What happened to that?

But Im willing to see if something is playing in the background we just dont know about.

16. I agree. We will know by December 13. We can wait that long to
start in with the attacks. Until then it makes more sense to behave as though Kerry is trying to pull this out and keep up our end of the fight. If nothing else, by continueing to fight to bring vote tampering issues in front of the public eye, we will be doing the single most important thing we can do right now to save American democracy for the future.

And the article really doesn't prove anything to me. If I was engaged in a stealth campaign against a clever and unscrupulous enemy, I wouldn't be shouting it out to all who will listen. Haven't you all ever heard of faking out the enemy? Come on people, THINK.

21. If we're thinking this way, then we know that Rove is too
Rove is evil to the core and I don't think he would be blind to what the Kerry camp may be doing. It would be a stupid move on his part not to rule out what we are all speculating here.
