Behind The Election: Bush Cheated 04 needs feedback and suggestions.
I am still working on a few more photo illustrations. Nathan Sproul in front of someone tearing up democratic voter registrations, Swift Boat Liars in front of an image of the Mai Lai massacre and someone bragging about the RNC mailing in Virginia on dems banning the bible. Also need to add more "Shallow Throat" narration bragging about tabuluation fraud. Suggestions for additional narrative copy especially welcomed and photos and information I still need such as the Virginia bible banning mailing.

1. I think the best we can do is inform people who need to know.
I think the best way to deal with this is to expand the base of people who know about it and will work to make other people aware of it. If people are aware of the exit polls and the shift to Bush from the polls, they could get fighting mad, especially as they see where the current people are taking the country. Then couple that with the attitude of the voting machine companies that they don't want a paper ballot or an audit. This is where the election was stolen. If enough people understand this, at some point a critical mass will be reached and suddenly others will be talking about it too and it will explode.

2. By using humor and parody we can reach a lot more people...
It's like the Daily Show. It has the audience it does because it is funny. At the same time it informs. My aim is to get this on fark and to have people who forward funny things to all their friends and aquaintances to forward this.

16. Kerry failed to expose the voting irregularities...
Instead last week says he believes it was the Osam Bin Lade video released a few days before the election that caused his loss? ---

I believe Bush again stole the election because of long extensive research into what happened in Florida and Ohio.

18. Kerry is a prosecutor, months later we still do not have any direct
evidence of tabulation fraud. You've seen the prosecutors on Law and Order to the cops, bring me eveidence or don't even go there. This type of criminal activity (tabulation fraud) has got to be one of the hardest types to obtain evidence and because of jurisdiction. Who is going to get a search warrant for every voting machine in one state, nevermind several. And on what grounds? Statistical analysis? We'd need a snitch.

3. How about a video capture of Peter King's
"The election's over. We won...We'll take care of the counting." statement. I don't have the link to the video handy though, sorry.

4. I am trying to use "villians" such as Blackwell, Jeb/Hood, & Rove...
Edited on Fri Feb-11-05 09:42 PM by rosebud57
that people have heard of and who have first hand influence on the election. By using a Behind The Music parody format I can portray the villians dishing the dirt on themselves. I decided to include the most egregious examples of pre election tampering, two of which most people have not heard about, Sproul operating in several states and tearing up dem registrations, and the Virgina bible banning mailing from the RNC. I do need pics for bopth of these photo illustrations I plan to do. I have Sproul but need someone tearing up paper and I need the Virginia bible banning mailing.

The tabulation fraud that I believe occured definitely in Ohio and in other states is harder to come up with a graphic/dialog/narrative for. For one the villian will not be a known person. I could claim it was Frank South the Emergency Services Director of Warren County who instigated the fake terror alert lockdown for the Nov. 2 vote tally. Or I could paint one of the Rapp brothers, owners of Triad as the tabulation villian. I don't think using Rove is as believable, even though that finger pic and the nickname "Mighty Mouse Finger Guy" is funny.

9. Would you be interested in any Diebold Touch Screen captures?
Maybe if there's something in the user manual, you could just let the machine talk!

10. I am still struggling with how to photo illustrate tabulation fraud
The thing is tabulation fraud was not limited to DRE. They did it in punch card counties and in optical scan counties. I think it needs to be a villian bragging about how they pulled it off. If you had to guess who, what and where, who would you hang it on? Rove in his computer filled room on the night of Nov. 2?

22. I don't know of any photos, but how about a cartoon of a Triad tech
handing a piece of paper to an Election official and saying, "Remember, when you finish the 'recount', these are the totals you need to come up with..."

7. This is all good but I am creating something specifically for the...
yada yada audience. I work with a bunch of liberals who spend all their time online and voted for Kerry and there is no way I could get them to read any of the volumninous analysis of the fraud angle.

The beauty of using parody and a Behind The Music narrated talking head style is I can put bragging snarky words in the mouths of the villians. I don't need any proof, I can just do it. And if I can create something funny enough to be forwarded by people who forward funny things the audience will be huge. Face it DUers, we are a humorless bunch who think reading a 93 page PDF is a great way to spend the evening. The reason Jon Stewart did not cover election fraud is because there was no humor to be found in any video footage. He did cover Swift Boat Liars because there was humor to be found in that situation.

I am going to have links in the Shallow Throat narration to actual news stories covering that particular subject. I've got Washington Post for Roy Hoffman, still looking for a news link for Nixon siccing O'Neil on Kerry, have found only blogs and lefty sites.

I am in Ohio so I am most familiar with Ohio villian Blackwell and of course everyone knows who the FL villians are, Jeb and Hood. If there are other states who have suppression villians please let me know. This parody mode needs narrators and talking head villians. I especially need a villian for Virginia bible banning mailing.

8. I like your work
Your idea to follow a behind the music parody is a jewel.
It's funny reading. I like the cartoons too.

My only suggestion was try and use less vulgar
language. I think it makes the site look less humorist,
And turns off "new learners".

Besides that I think your idea to be on fark.com will be
realized.

11. I am trying to communicate the rat fucker mentality of GOP operatives.
Which phrases in particular do you think go over the line? Or should there be certain words axed or replaced with ***** so you still know what was said? I imagine the audience to be anyone who watches Comedy Central or Bill Maher's "Real Time" on HBO.

15. The word
ass makes me double take. Any not in a good way.

"Shallow Throat: We were down to the wire and Ohio was do or die.
We had Uncle Tom Whitewell so far up our asses his saliva was
drenching my underware."

And the cartoon where Bush saying
"I'm an asswipe wanna lick my boots...."

The idea for wiping out the word with *** would work well.
I just think it would help make the page more presentable
to the audience.
Belive me i don't think the page should be PG13. :hippie:
So I hope you understand my view.

19. I am surprised ass was the word, I thought it would be the phrase
Fuck the OP.

Bbefore the election I was passing out a flyer that rhymed called "George W. Bush is a punk ass bitch" to mostly young African Americans, but also some middle aged ones and no one was offended and they all wanted a personal copy to keep. One girl on her way to church with 2 young children in tow said she was going to use her church copy machine to make copies. Whenever middle aged middle class Kerry campaign people saw it or heard the words, they were like "you can't do that." I know what happens when people distribute flyers, most end up in the trash or on the ground, this flyer didn't even get folded to put in a pocket. I even had African American businesses like barber shops displaying it on the walls of their shop. So I think audiences can be vastly different.

I do think we have to get young African Americans up in arms about their disenfranchisement by the Republican party, especially in light of some of the recent overtures.

I know what happens when people distribute flyers, most end up in the trash or on the ground, this flyer didn't even get folded to put in a pocket. I even had African American businesses, like barber shops displaying it on the walls of their shop. So I think audiences can be vastly different in their perception of profanity. I do like the implication that Blackwell is a brown noser, and "so far up our asses" is a slightly profane way of communicating that.

I do think we have to get young African Americans up in arms about their disenfranchisement by the Republican party, especially in light of some of the recent overtures.

My comics are getting a bit grim and visitors need some cheering up. Be sure and announce when it is ready for general consumption.

Have you considered a poll? A really simple interactive game?

And of course, you will need merchandise, that is what people will be searching the web for.

17. I was thinking postcards, buttons and bumperstickers. People want
to speak out and they will turn to the internet to look for ways to
do it. This is how they will find your site. At the very least you should probably have a link for a site that sells such stuff since it is good to have people wearing it.You might consider printing some postcards of your funniest artwork.

I take Voodou seriously, so I'm not a good one to ask about the doll, since I would say "dont go there", but I know many people would say it is a good idea.

21. Do you have the clip of GW shooting the camera a bird?
Edited on Sun Feb-13-05 12:22 PM by johnaries
I think that would be quite appropriate. I lot of people would think it's photoshopped, so maybe a stillshot thumbnail linked to the clip itself so everyone will know exactly what B*** REALLY thinks of us!

ON EDIT: you can title the thumbnail "click here to see Bush's response to voters on Election Fraud" or something similar.

23. All my photo illustrations are PhotoShopped so that is not a problem
I think Bush saying Fuck You with his hand would make a good basis for a photo illustration. What should the speech dialog bubble say? Think mean spirited and rude, because Bush is both.

I do need the image is anyone has it, the bigger the better of course since my images are 520 pixels wide.
