I answered a post on this earlier at DU by someone else.

I think the thing is: you have to realize that the GOP is not going to do anything if it knows it's going to be re-elected, and win elections, no matter what, because of having gotten away with election rigging.

Once this system is in place, the Democrats have no leverage at all. The voters have no leverage at all. The GOP has no incentive to do a thing except keep cheating, and keep their cheating system effectively covered up.
There is no working with them on this. You have to expose them while you have an opening to do it. It doesn't matter how unpopular it appears right now. The alternative is permanent defeat. It's that harsh a choice. There is no reasonable choice.
The courts are no help. It's gotten that far in the courts. The only thing we have left, is this Elector challenge thing.
The idea of "negotiating reforms" has to be based on some kind of leverage for the Democrats. What leverage are they going to have, if the GOP brings this off without a challenge?

People, please do exercise a bit of level-headed rationality. The hard and ugly truth of the matter is that we will not know anything in regards to this until Thursday afternoon. So, it is best to simple ignore the rumors as they will only serve to drive you up the wall. Now, if a Senator gets on TV and says he's going to contest the election, then there is cause to celebrate and begin writing that brave patriot's political obituary. It would be nice if we had some Senators with the temerity to do the right thing and not be so concerned about saving face...

Apparently it was stated that there doesn't seem to be a problem with congressmen (women) to chalendge the Ohio electoral vote but mum seems to be the word on which Senator will step forward to object!

I can't fathom only one senator stepping forward, if I had a Dem senator I would think twice about his re-election.

Anyway, Shultz just said the challendge will happen on Jan. 6th.
