Poll question: Who did the most to steal democracy in 2004?
Edited on Fri Dec-31-04 11:36 PM by senseandsensibility
I know it's tempting to pick * . But in my opinion, he's a puppet, and a fool to boot. Nevertheless, feel free to pick him if you wish.

Who is the most responsible for the theft of the election, and the thwarting of progressive values? There are so many to choose from...

Please pick one, and Happy New Year!

4. got to be the media
Of the rest, all were doing what we more or less would expect them to do. The media is democracy's natural defense against them. On that list, the media alone failed to do its job.

6. The cWHOREporate media
For being lame-ass, roll-over pieces of shit.

They are suppsosed to be protectors of the people: the citizen's eyes and ears.

I loved that profession, damnit, and they've rolled over like a whupped pup.

Fuck 'em!

8. At the local J-School the vast majority of undergrads don't even talk
about wanting to be journalists. They want to go into PUBLIC RELATIONS !

It is all spin and lies and looking good on camera!

:puke:

20. They're empty-headed
just like their hero, chimp. That's why it's easy for their corporate owners to control them, just as Rove controls *.

10. Yes, I've read
that you are (or were) a journalist, and I majored in journalism in college, and wrote for my college newspaper. The things I learned in my ethics courses in one of the most respected jouralism departments at the time seem laughable now. I was idealistic about journalists until four years ago. They ate literally a joke.

19. Were
I gave it up when my son was born. Just freelanced a bit from home.

Now I'm in public relations (heh.. to the post above. ;) ) I had to go into something where it was 8 to 5 so I could be at home with my son.

I miss my profession. I loved it. Never wanted to be anything but. However, my son is more important.

7. I had a hard time decided between Katherine Blacksick and KKK Rove...
but Rove wrote the playbook that Blackwell and company put to good use. Also Rove knows more about exactly how and who participated in the high-tech fraud -- Blacksick just knows about voter suppression and probably vaguely about the computer hacking.

:grr:

But what about the corporate media that allowed them both to get away with it?

13. The corporate media has been the chief enabler...
"The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it comes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism - ownership of government by an individual, by a group." -- Franklin D. Roosevelt

16. Other Candidates
Cheyney - because we all know he's the real President
Faux-watchers - because he couldn't have stolen it if no one voted for him

But I picked the Media because, had they been doing their job, no one would have voted for him.

21. Rove
Remember, he knew the leaked exit poll numbers were "wrong" the whole time. While everyone in the Repug party was all in a tizzy, Rove knew they had nothing to worry about.

22. MSM responsible for false impressions !
It something how now that the election is over ,suddenly important topics like the economy are suddenly OK to talk negatively about. Apprently most of the big shots in the MSM ,are nothing except a bunch of overpaid yes men & women ! They all make me sick . They have let so many Americans that need them to get the truth out, down and why did they do it, well Iam willing to bet most if not all of them are in the Tax bracket that is going to benifit from bushes policy . Its back to the oldest excuse in the world for people to lie , GREED !!!!!

24. The Democratic National Committee
For picking a candidate who was neither fish nor fowl, and trying to decide policy with focus groups and poll numbers.

We need a strong leader to run in '08. Cheating is possible only when the actual results are very close.
