Kerry Wasn't True To Himself
How could we expect him to be true to us? Kerry wasn't my first choice. There was something muddy about him. No doubt he's a good man, and may have been a good president, but he didn't inspire people In my state, over a third of the people who voted for him, were voting more against bush than for JK.

I never bought his vote to authorize the war. I thought then, and I think now it was done for political expediency. He is, and always has been, incredibly politically ambitious. He wanted to be president and he was willing to set aside core beliefs to get there. Many Senators, including both of mine voted against the IWR. Kerry's heart wasn't in that vote. The best evidence for that is his vote in 1991 against the first Iraq war.

He didn't attempt to make the environment an issue. He didn't try to redefine the word liberal. He ran to the center.

Why are we now surprised?

2. I keep hearing this...

"he ran to the center"/// blah blah

is there some sort of belief here that there is a huge block
of voters, bigger than the current losing margin PLUS the number
of center-left Dems who will NOT vote for a leftist/socialist...
that DIDN'T vote for Kerry, but stayed home and sat on their
collective thumbs??? And these folks are just waiting for a
"real leftist" to step up and run? If there is such a block of
voters, then I want to kick them in their collective keisters!
But I don't believe it. So we need to drop that meme and really
rethink things.

I've also heard over and over again how we need to "educate" folks
and "get the message out". Bullshit. We did that. The truth
(in *'s Amerika) will NOT set you free. If we want to win, we will
have to play dirty rotten cheating politics just like KKKarl. We
think we can win if we "just get the truth to the people", but that's
crap. And I don't think running Dennis K. is the answer either.
If their are 10 Million progressives who didn't vote this go round
because Kerry wasn't "pure" enough... well, I don't believe it.
