Commiserations from the UK
Just want to say sorry to all those DUers and every other American who campaigned against the chimp. I feel really sad for you guys today. I've been coming on to DU for the past year so I know there's a lot of really smart and highly principled people in the US, which gives me some hope for the future of your country, and the world even.

However, this election has really revealed some frightening things about the cultural and political state of the US.

Like a lot of people, I wasn't really sold on Kerry. He seemed like just another lap dog of big business. But how the fuck millions of Americans can go out and vote for another 5 years of Bush's ugly fucking face and twangy fucking voice coming out of the idiot box every time you watch the news I simply fail to understand. I mean, even if you don't watch the news and just channel hop, just an accidental momentary glimpse of his face is enough to spoil my evening. He's even more irritating than the war criminal Blair, and that's saying something.

Once again, commiserations to you guys. But don't get too down. Remember, on an international level there's more of us than there is of them. And we're the future! (punches the air!)

2. Please help us out and...
....spread the word to your fellow UKers and other Europeans that there are many Americans who are good people who want this guy out and can't stand what he is doing to us. Please don't let your fellow countrymen dismiss America as hopeless.

4. Thanks - One of my greatest concerns is the reaction of the
international community. I want you all to understand that at least half of this nation are strongly opposed to Bush and his administration.

Please don't hold the rest of us responsible for this.

5. Get rid of Blair!!! That would be a shining example for
depressed Americans to look to. How realistic is that?

6. In the UK
I'm afraid that we suffer from most of the democratic problems that you suffer from. Or more precisely, there is a lack of democracy. Maybe the one good thing over here is that no one is really convinced by Blair, and the kind of mindless flag waving that Bush and his gang seem to favour is looked upon by most people with suspicion.

Hang in there. We're with ya!
