Alot of people are saying Kerry will concede today
Mike Barnicle, Andrea Mitchell, Chris Mathews, Tom Brokaw, and Tim Russert have all suggested they think Kerry will have to concede today. Why isnt Kerry making some statement, anything? I honestly think its over but if Kerry will fight this for the next few weeks, he should say so. If he's not, he should make some indication.

Looks like everyone is on edge over what direction the campaign will go and I think Kerry should relieve our fears one way or another.

11. What's the hurry? Gotta catch a train or something?
MOST Democrats prefer that the votes are ACTUALLY counted. Hold your horses.. and stop attack John Kerry. This is NOT the day for it..

28. I would really like him to say
"we are gonna fight this. This election is not over until all of the votes are counted, and since there are hundreds of thousands to come in Ohio, and 1.6 Million in Florida, there is no need to concede anything."

If, by any chance, a Kerry campaign member is reading this, feel free to use it.

(as i flatter myself...:P)

43. Mike Barnicle, Andrea Mitchell, Chris Mathews, Tom Brokaw, and Tim Russert
Do we really give half a rat's ass what these people say, suggest, feel..??? FUCK them. Mike McCurry and Joe Lockhart will be having a news conference at any moment. I will wait to hear from THEM knowing that they were firmly entrenched fighting the radical right while Clinton was under attack. If it was Joe Lieberman with the news conference I would have already gone to sleep...

I don't think they will cave, I think they will look at the whole picture and see what they can do with it, legally speaking.

Relax and hope for the best of all possible outcomes!

out to all of his loyal followers in Copley Square early this A.M.----he sent Edwards.

They stood there in the cold for hours and he didn't come out.

24. Well Candy, you are not alone and the PRIMARY reason
that Democrats will never win. There's too many folks such as yourself who doesn't know when to hunker down and "root for the team" instead of bitch.

Democrats will never be as mean spirited as Republicans but we better wake the hell up and work together OR ELSE we're (and the world) is in for a horrible four years.

John F. Kerry can do NO wrong in my eyes even if he concedes. He's a fellow veteran and I love the good man and patriot that he IS.

AMEN and watch out for the fundies! <sigh>

He was not my first choice but this family will walk alongside him. C-Span just said that he called DUMBO to concede. This from C-Span so until it's official let's not get excited. I will be thoroughly disappointed.

when he's down. Especially a man who has fought so hard for the Presidency, then I hope you leave the party. No joke, if you kick a fellow Democrat when he's hurting, you are not a team player and not an asset.

Kerry Campaign Not Ready to Concede
Wed Nov 3, 6:01 AM ET

9. I just want him to wait until all the votes are counted
...and there are no outstanding reasonable legal challenges that could turn things around.

And I want him to know that his supporters are not in favor of conceding before that. I will be so disappointed if he caves to the White House and the cable news people.

He has to remember that it's our fight, not just his.

20. .............Agreed
Silence is not necessarily 'golden' in a situation like this. It's best that he just put this behind him and prepare to move on----with Bush up 3.5MM in the popular vote count, it certainly is not as though there is a moral high-ground associated with winning the popular vote, like there was with Al in 2000.

29. No one here, i think, ever said otherwise
The point Ive had to reiterate several times, which I thought was clear in my original post, is that Kerry needs to make a statement. Why is that such a bad thing, why are people so averse to kerry keeping us in the loop, why the want/need for secrecy from the campaign?

40. Give him a break
You want him to keep you in the loop, I want him to work with his team of advisors and lawyers to work out a plan of action.

Rushing things just to placate you, the impatient one, can lead to mistakes and problems down the road.

You don't understand Kerry's "want/need for secrecy from the campaign", oh jeese, are you sure you don't understand that? You're impatient desire is like giving Rove a call and let him in on his strategies.

Just give him a break, already!

NOTE: As I was writing this, CBS just announced that Kerry will concede to Bush*.

in favor of a quick resolution. We must resist and fight back until all the votes are counted.

Read Joshua Green's excellent article, "Karl Rove in a Corner" from the Atlantic, and tell me whether you think the Bush campaign would give up after one day. In 1994, Rove demanded recount after recount after the Alabama state judicial election, until his candidate, Perry Hooper, was declared the winner. It took almost a year before Hooper was certified as the winner.

And you want us to give up after one day?
