...considering that COPE has completely self-distructed over the cult of (Larry) Campbell. I mean really, that was the main reason, other than claiming that "COPE Classic" were a bunch of hard-left hippies, that 'Vision Vancouver' split off. It was all about personal pre-madonnaism.
The NPA had the perfect opportunity to get back in. Now with this, it'll be much harder. But it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people, who ruled over the city arrogantly like it was their own personal feifedom more or less for the previous ten years.
Did you hear about this?

One thing they learned is that Clark is still getting familiar with Vancouver names. She referred to the Southeast False Creek project as the south False Creek project and twice she said COPE when she meant NPA.
The second time, after she was wrapping up her opening speech with "Let's return a COPE majority to city council," audience members called out to correct her.
:7 Freudin slip?
Also, the way she keeps talking about "law and order", that's so suburban. In Vancouver anyways, you have to get into all those wierd little issues like improving traffic flow, making sure things are zoned well, blah blah blah. Getting "tough" on crime, is a little cliche. We all like public safety, but the city isn't being gripped by crime so I don't really get why she's only talking about that... unless she doesn't really get Vancouver issues.
Point being, Sam Sullivan (while I doubt I'd vote for him) would make a much better candidate and actual mayor than her.
