Auditors dig up millions more spent on 'sponsorship-related' activities

Ottawa - Auditors hired by the Gomery inquiry have uncovered another $105 million spent on sponsorship-related activities by the Liberals.

A report tabled at the inquiry on Tuesday by the Kroll Lindquist Avey firm revealed a total of $355 million could be linked to sponsorship actions – that's more than the $250 million Auditor General Sheila Fraser pegged in her report.

The auditing firm said it included spending going back to 1994 because it discovered special programs similar to sponsorship activities. Fraser's report examined contracts between 1997 and 2003.

1. I heard that those who receive enveloppes filled...
...with cash, and did not include them in their income tax revenue declarations are about to get some "bad" news from both provincial and federal income tax investigators...

I sure wouldn't want to be in their shoes!

If I was certain that voting for the NDP here in Quebec would help TO PREVENT the "pro-neocon" Conservatives to ever come to power, I would. Here in Quebec, voting NDP would just "split" the vote... There would have to be a CLEAR indication that the NDP would win enough seats in most other provinces as well.

Ain't gonna happen (it seems). :(

So we'll have to try to elect as many Liberal MPs as we can, here. Have we any other serious choice?

Harper (and his "retrograders") are a NO-NO in Quebec... (same for *).

2. Perhaps you have heard of a US Vice President named Spiro Agnew
Agnew used to received envelopes full of cash from government contractors and, needless ot say, he didn't report it on his income taxes, either.

The day he resigned the Vice Presidency, he pleaded no contest to income tax evasion in federal court.
