More plagiarism accusations surface
OTTAWA — Stephen Harper is once again facing accusations of plagiarism, this time for allegedly copying parts of a speech by former Ontario premier — and fellow Conservative — Mike Harris.

The Liberals sent out a news release on Friday comparing lines from a speech Mr. Harris gave in December 2002, and an address by Mr. Harper in February 2003. Some of the phrases are identical.

It's the second ethical embarrassment for Mr. Harper in recent days.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that large parts of a speech he gave as Opposition leader in 2003 were copied from an address by then-Australian prime minister John Howard.

Mr. Harper speechwriter Owen Lippert was forced to resign over the scandal after admitting he plagiarized parts of the speech.

1. Does this mean Harper wrote the speech?
Conservative Leader Stephen Harper is under fire again for the second time in a week after allegations surfaced that he may have plagiarized portions of a speech by former Ontario Tory premier Mike Harris, but party officials say they're not going to reveal who wrote the latest speech.
...
The Conservatives, who fired the campaign staffer who had plagiarized the speech of Mr. Howard, said Friday that they won't say who lifted the passages from the speech of Mr. Harris.

A party spokesman, Dan Dugas, said in an e-mail that the Conservatives are “not going to chase down similarities in 44 words in a five-year-old, 4,956-word speech.”

They should think of the school children, who are being corrupted by these examples of shameless plagiarism.

2. Same excuse they used the last time
until they were forced to find a sacrificial lamb.

Harper's office must be getting short of staff by now.

3. Yes, it must be tough to be a lamb around there
It started out as a fall election, now it's a fall-guy election.

5. It means
That the prime minister is devoid of original thought. He is so entrenched with right wing ideals, that he cannot put together a sentence without parroting talking points - but he is incapable of creating his own.
