Freedom From Religion Foundation to be on NC WI talk radio

To be on WDLB 1450AM out of Marshfield. She is generally very critical of the Bush Administration and GOP policies. Unfortunately the range is maybe only 25-30 miles out of Marshfield.

THURSDAY April 21st, 2005

11:00am - Annie Laurie Gaylor - Freedom From Religion Foundation

1. Dan Barker was here at UWSP awhile back
I got to interview him for our campus TV station. Interesting guy.

2. WBAI (NYC) was playing Dan Barker singing his songs two nights ago.
He sang "The Pope Stay Away Polka" and "Nothing Fails Like Prayer".

3. Thanks for the heads up
I'm crossing my fingers that I'm not too busy to listen that day. I've heard her quite often on NPR but I'm curious what the local nuggets will think of her. We have some very special ones in the Marshfield area.

4. ooh - those would be the "Nightmare" ones, right?
Definately not my brand of Christianity. I thought they themselves were the biggest "nightmare" of their whole presentation!

5. Yep, and a few others too.
There's a whole family of wacked out Catholics, four generations deep. They are regular LTTE writers always crying about abortion, gays, and how we're going down the shit shoot morally in this country. One of them even invaded a Dean meetup to try to convince supporters that Dean was a murdering baby killer. Unfortunately the press was at that meeting so we had to be nice when we told him to bugger off. Fortunately, his kind are relatively easy to outwit.

Marshfield is loaded with fundie freaks. If they take calls, this radio program could be very interesting.

6. Well, at least Marshfield has you and Ed...
That at least balances the powers, as far as I'm concerned. :)

8. Aw, shucks

You are too kind, Rev. I think Ed and I would need the powers of He-man and She-ra to balance out that kind of nuttiness.

Lucky for us, it can be relatively entertaining to watch.

7. I know the family
Edited on Tue Apr-19-05 09:57 AM by ewagner
had some interaction with them a couple of years ago....I think they're still "praying for me"....

Sounds like this will be Ryan Lindsey's show...he does the Friday thing called The Sane Center with Cindy Cook which is pretty good but they bend over backwards to be "in the center".

<hand smacks forehead>

I wrote it on my calendar but I was too busy getting ready for my kids' track meet and never saw it. Dang. And I bet it was pretty good, too.
