8th CD and 6th CD Candidates
I just wanted to let you know that the sites for the two candidates in the 6th and 8th Congressional District are up and running. (There is a second 8th CD candidate but she has NOT filed the proper paperwork and there is serious doubt about her candidacy)

8th CD (versus Mark Green):

6th CD (versus Tom Petri):

Volunteer your time and resources... if we can turn these two seats Dem we can help turn the tide in Congress. :)

I donated to Dottie in January but I didn't know about the 6th CD contender.

on edit: Dottie is a great candidate - a spitfire. She has been an outspoken Dem in the party for a very long time and she isn't afraid to call a duck a duck. She should give Green a run for the money

3. Dottie will need a lot of money
Green has lots to spend, plus he's the incumbant. For Dottie to have a chance, she'll really need to get the word out about who she is and what she stands for.

LeClair Campaign: LeClair greet JDRF Walkers with Message of Hope
5/8/2004

For Immediate Release:

Dottie LeClair, Democratic candidate for the 8th Congressional District, greeted walkers at the annual Walk for A Cure of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in Green Bay. Dottie presented the walkers and supporters with a message of hope for federal funding and oversight of stem cell research, the most promising answer for a cure to the scourge of Juvenile Diabetes.

Republican Mark Green opposes federal funding for stem cell research, and also has “problems” with the research itself, whether done publicly or privately. (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, July 29, 2001.)

Unlike her opponent, Dottie believes that stem cell research is vitally important to finding the cure for diseases like Juvenile Diabetes and cancer. She believes that this research can be done ethically, and should be funded with oversight by the Federal Government.
