Is a tea partier trying to buy Chris Larson's former County Board seat?
According to this .pdf, he's lent his campaign $50,000. That's roughly what the position pays in a year.

Happily, there is a good guy running for this position--Jason Haas.

I know everyone is busy with recalls, but there are some previously scheduled elections that really need your help. Would you consider helping out with $10, $20, $50, or an hour or two of your time?

Contribution and volunteer information is available at that link.

We need to keep this seat in good hands, and because Jason does not have $50,000 to throw into this race, it got a bit more challenging. We can win this with boots on the ground, and contributions from regular people. The Tea Party would love to win this for the sheer symbolism.

Thanks!

1. Kick because this election is important to Milwaukee Co.
When we get a new county executive, and it had better be Chris Abele, he will need a supportive board of supervisors to get anything done. And if the unthinkable happens, we will need progressives on the board to rein in a Walker clone executive to the greatest extent possible. Anyone who can help with money or time, please do it for the good of a county that has borne the brunt of Walker's foolishness for many years and shows it.

2. Thanks for the kicks and recs!
Looks like we're on the greatest page! Nice!

It's perfectly legal and common for candidates to loan their campaigns money--Jason did so as well, but not even close to that much, because you need some lit and a web site before people will start taking your campaign seriously. $50,000 can buy an entire four-year degree at UWM, two or three new cars, 25 years of health insurance deductibles, 100,000 cans of food for Hunger Task Force.

Yes, Abele lent himself obscene amounts of money, but he actually seems to have a sincere desire to make things better. Kraeger just wants to be in office--he's run for this seat at least three times, and he's run for state representative and alderman, too.

I'm the wife of the good guy running (as I have disclosed in my other posts on this topic), so I should probably keep it polite.

I gotta be nice, but you have at it (though "poopy-pants" may not quite be so apt as "Bieber-haired.")
