Doors open at 6 p.m. The debates begin at 8 p.m.
mapSupporters of John Kerry, Russ Feingold and Gwen Moore are invited to
watch the 1st Presidential Debate between George W. Bush and John Kerry,
held Thursday, September 30th at Serb Hall.
At least one of the Kerry/Feingold field coordinators will be there;
with luck they will have a short presentation before that debate-
we still need volunteers and ward captains- esp for the south side!
PLEASE PASS THE WORD ON TO INTERESTED PARTIES!
The first debate will be held at the University of Miami, in Coral
Gables, Florida. The September 30th debate will be on foreign policy and
homeland security.
Serb Memorial Hall is located at 5101 W. Oklahoma Avenue, in
Milwaukee. Their number: 545-6030.
The event is free. Large screen tv's inside the President's Lounge
promise a great view for everyone! There will be a cash bar. Patrons
have an opportunity to purchase pizzas and nacho's, as well as other
appetizers.
Many, many important rallies have been held at Serb Hall. Some of the
famous persons who have visited an/or spoken there over the years
include: John and Jackie Kennedy, Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon,
Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Lyndon Johnson, Ronald and Nancy Reagan,
George Bush, Bill Clinton, Dick Chaney, Hubert Humphrey, Edmund Muskie,
George McGovern, Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, Jerry Kleczka,
Governor Tommy Thompson, Mayor John Norquist, Mayor Henry Meier, Clement
Zablocki, William O'Donnell and the list goes on.
As one NBC producer covering one of the rallies so aptly put it, "Serb
Hall has been a must stop for local, state and federal office seekers
for many years."
Serb Hall also has a reputation in Milwaukee for their award-winning
Friday Fish Fry. Thank you to Serb Hall for allowing us to use the
facility.
