Should we start thinking about a get-together around 7/18?
I was thinking about this today.

July 18, 2005 was the date of Andy's service. Would people be interested in getting together for a one-year remembrance?

If folks are into the idea, there are a couple of possibilities I'd like to put forth.

We could meet somewhere sort of central on the weekend (7/15 or 16) and talk, maybe have a few toasts in Andy's memory. Maybe downtown, or even at the place near Town Hall where people gathered after Andy's service?

OR, we could meet somewhere a little off the beaten track, somewhere with free parking and maybe even a happy hour deal on beverages & apps. The $10 or so that we would each save on parking & expensive downtown mojitos could be rounded up and sent to goodboy & his wife. They were so wonderful at Andy's service, and goodboy has been experiencing a serious health & financial crisis. I haven't spoken to him about this, but I get the sense that he could use a little help. (Please note--I haven't spoken to DU admin about this. This idea is wholly mine and is still in a planning stage.)

Does anyone have any thoughts? Would anyone be at all interested in this idea? Am I overstepping?

Feel free to PM me, or offer any thoughts here.

Thanks.
