It would be sad if the Va Dem Party couldn't field "one" credible candidate?

Even Ben Afleck is looking good to me now, only because that would draw national media attention, and just maybe, an opportunity to expose Allen for the fake he is?

Thoughts?

1. Harris Miller is running
Edited on Fri Feb-03-06 06:28 PM by AlecBGreen
He is a former lobbyist for the telecommunications industry. No website up yet.

James Webb is out. He will not run. Thats too bad, because he is the only candidate Ive seen who could knock off Allen.

3. Why did James Webb decide not to run?
I am so disappointed--know many people who were ready to go to work for him. We must find someone equally as good. Harris isn't the one. :-(

4. I'm disappointed too :(
It would be ashame for Allen to go unchallenged on his record, especially that he's a frontrunner for the 2008 nom.

5. Webb still in according to Raising Kaine site.
Webb Reconsiders: Never a Dull Moment!

As you all know, earlier this week I reported that James Webb had decided not to run for U.S. Senate from Virginia this year. This was based on direct contact with Webb, and was information that was rock solid at the time. However, times change. Today, I met with James Webb for 3 hours, along with my colleagues Josh Chernila and Lee Diamond, and I am authorized to say the following on Webb’s behalf: “Webb is definitely not out. Stay tuned for an announcement next week.”

As I said in the title, “never a dull moment!”

6. Thanks for the information !
I signed up for their Raising Kaine e-newsletters and voted in the poll :hi:

I do think Webb can defeat Allen, I'm glad he changed his mind. We could probably get a lot of the DU community to support him too, as they would love to "knock-off" one of the GOP's 2008 "chosen ones".
