HurricaneHermine is hitting us hard...
Edited on Wed Sep-08-10 12:42 PM by kjackson227
in the DFW area. Massive flooding is causing high water rescues of people from apartment complexes, flooded streets, and some schools are closing. DISD will decide whether or not to close early today. Huge vehicles (Suburbans, etc.) are being swept away, and one woman was reported missing this morning (not sure if they've found her, yet). Everyone, please be very careful. Remember, any vehicles trying to cross water any higher than one foot can be swept away.

1. Wow, I was just watching the news online.
I am in Houston, and we got very little rain compared to y'all.

The storm mostly passed up by.

Stay safe.

2. We dodged a bullet here
its projected path was the same as Alex & we weren't looking forward to another Rio Grande flooding. Sorry to hear it's caused so many problems for folks in other parts of the state, though. :(

Sorry to say that the flooding turned out to be deadly for some. But, also, the tornadoes that came through were very scary. Also sorry to say that my a/c unit just gave out, and we're expecting MORE HOT WEATHER for the upcoming weeks. Most of the warehouse stores are out of a/c units (at least for the size I need), so we're just depending on two small window units until we can afford to buy something else :(
