Has anyone else received a glossy mailer from their Congress Person?
I got a big 8-1/2"x11" glossy four-color mailer from my jack-ass Repukelicon Congressman Pete Olson. It's absolutley nothing but right-wing talking points all the way down to saying "Democrat Congress." On the back it says it's fully paid for by taxpayer dollars. Are they allowed to use their office for political purposes at our collective expense? Finally, it includes a ridiculous survey card which amounts to a sort of push poll.

It frames the first question sort of like this:

How to stimulate the economy, pick one.

A: Massive spending and large deficits
B: Tax cuts
C: Tax cuts
D: Other

I'm not kidding. Those are the choices.

2. I added my own commentary to his survey:
I wrote all over it.

"I want to be able to pay for and have the same health plan that you have as a Congressman."

"Stop wasting taxpayer money on your political talking points mailers."

"It's "Democratic" Party, asswipe."

"What would a Republican know about a balanced budget?"

"Pathetic"

"Cut defense spending."

"PROSECUTE THE TORTURERS"

3. Well.....
I am in the middle stages of a purely political prosecution attempt, in Texas. I won a Texas Medical Board hearing, which was stage 1. (There is a bill pending this year which could have stopped this before it even went that far.) The investigator had submitted more than 10 clearly false accusations, which is why we have a bill pending. The medical board dismissed her allegations, but of course I spent a year's worth of graduate school tuition on it anyway. 2 days ago, 2 people from Texas Attorney General's office came and wanted all "paper records" of patient visits for past 4 1/2 years. (I am not sure that will all fit into my Honda Civic.) Same investigator regularly meets with these AG folks about legitimate fraud. In this case it is clear that the investigator, per her reputation, is pushing her case of false charges, and the Texas AG officers want to review 18,600+ patient visits and then try to prosecute on a 4+ year old document, apparently as a political favor - because I have never done anything fraudulent in 25 years of practice. THIS IS TEXAS.

The one good thing, I hope, is that I had already written to several poiliticos, and the governor R Peery, whose office appoints these clowns, had already replied. Since this kind of "investigation" means someone will pour over 18,600+ records trying to find a few which might not substantiate the bill, all of which is subjective, it is nothing more than a political prosecution. The TMB does not want anyone who questions them to hold a license. But I do not think Rick Perry is that naive.

So, Yes I get such mass-mailed stuff. And no, none of the state-level politicians even replied to my letter about this. But Perry and our 2 US Senator's did.

4. It is indeed Texas....
And there is a lot of "string pulling" by Democrats as well as Republicans and no one dares to "rock the boat" and that includes Rick Perry and the two Bush lapdogs who by the way are very good at responding, sometimes by telephone, but not so good at actually doing anything. Although Kay "Bailout-Wall-Street-but-to-Hell-with-Main-Street" Hutchison is very careful about even writing an inquiry letter to a state agency including the Attorney General's Office and has been since she first announced her intentions to run for governor back in 2005.

And some will pull strings to prevent you from being indicted and some will pull strings to ensure you are indicted. Welcome to Texas!

As for Pete Olson I try not to think about Pete Olson mainly because it scares me to think about how many rabid Republicans there are in Ft. Bend County which reminds me, no offense to the Democrats in Ft. Bend County, of a nest of termites intent on devouring the Constitution the way termites devour the frame of a house.

5. The R's here *are* very stoopid and very scary.
Here's a place to keep tabs on them, if you can stomach it:
