1. Yeah baby! This is our homegrown talent!
Don't just get mad, get even. But don't forget to party in between. These kick-ass musicians are giving it up for our side. Come on out and show them we appreciate them. It's only $20 for us poor people and considering the line-up that is a fabulous deal. I better see some Austin DUers out there and of course any nearby DUers are welcome as well.

I went to Lloyd Doggett's fundraiser yesterday, and the food was awesome. Looks like they have great sponsors here as well. Not only do you get to hear great music but if you can afford the cocktail hour, it's top of the line.

I'm in a red state and I have the blues, but I'm lucky cause my friends and I are working hard to change that.

:yourock: and so do we.

2. Joe!
I don't care how old that man gets, he is still sexy as hell. And a Democrat to boot.

And Dave Grissom? He's dreamy. :loveya:

MAN I wish I could go!

4. FSC I will have a great time just for you
One of my friends was able to buy the backstage VIP pass and maybe I can take some pics for us. He said he can take a guest backstage.

I love Joe Ely too. He played that anti-redistricting rally for us. We have some great talent on our side.

5. Brazosboomer what we need is to keep this fight up all year long
Then these blue troops can have concerts all over the state to raise money for the TX Dems. I knew that musicians and other artists would do their part and they are. We're just getting a late start. You know the fight isn't over on Nov. 2nd anyway. We need to keep the work up statewide.

Let's keep this in mind when Austin wins the Democracy Fest conference and we find out how to get more artists to help us continue re-building right here in Texas. Even if the concert happens in Austin we can work to raise money for other areas. These are ideas to put out there.

6. Agreed!
I posted my intention to help fund Democracy for Texas workshops in the coming year.

We have to start working on November 4th to take back Texas in 2 years. (We all get to sleep on the 3rd.)

Because we won't let you. Heck honey the cat is out of the bag, I think most people with brains here on DU know who you are either way.

12. I love John Sharp
And if he runs he's got a stronger more energized base next time in 06. I also have my heart set on Richard Raymond though. I love that guy.

14. The show was awesome and a big success
My favorite was Joe Ely of course, but Jimmy LaFave was rocking as well. He did his version of "This land is my land" and "The times they are changing".

I'll post pictures tomorrow.

15. Some pics
A bit blurry, you can blame the photographer (me). The musicians were moving quite a bit and so was the photographer. Plus my digital camera is not really that good.

So without further excuses

Pinetop Perkins (just moved to Austin played with Marcia Ball. He's 91 years old. Awesome!)

Guy Forsyth (he was wearing a no W t-shirt, pretty cool)

Jimmy LaFave (he has the most beautiful voice)

Joe Ely (El es muncho mas macho) Played everything
Cool Rockin' Loretta
Musta Notta Gotta Lotta
Dallas
All Just To Get to You
Road Hawg

Joe Ely and David Grissom. (David is an extremely talented guitarist)

-----------
Wish you all could have been there. It rocked. Yeah for our side!

Sonia
