Texas legislature to act on the 'Taxpayer Extortion Act' (HB2833/SB1647)
Do Texans care about protecting our water supplies and protecting our rural landscapes and ecosystems? Then we need to let the legislature know our feelings, because they are acting soon on a bill that will force taxpayers to pay real estate developers to behave responsibly and to not pollute our water -- not pave over our landscapes when cities decide that such action will be harmful.

The bills in question are HB 2833 and SB 1647. Please call your state representatives as soon as you can.

Contact information can be found here: http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/fyi/fyi.htm

I've written more about this issue here: http://pmbryant.typepad.com/b_and_b/2005/04/texas_legislatu.html

Thanks for everyone's help,
Peter
