2. Democracy for Chattanooga needs some dedicated, active
volunteers. (Hint, hint) We're trying to set up a committee for: monitoring the school board meetings, county commission meetings, networking activists within the community and branching into a larger SE TN coalition, phone banking, etc. The next meeting is Nov. 1 (the day before world can't wait day, www.worldcantwait.org, at a restaurant in E. Ridge. We also discussed getting a group together to plan something locally for Nov. 2nd's, The World Can't Wait. Any suggestions?

Last night's meeting went well. We had a few pictures of the DC Rally on a big screen TV. Mr. Stulce was introduced and he spoke for a few minutes. He's pretty much as described on his site currently: war has got to end, stressed that corporations and lobbyists for same have taken over the govt. and that's got to stop that someone has to be looking out for the best interests of working Americans. He spoke of repealing the tax cuts - especially for corps. and the upper tier of wealthy Americans because the national debt is out of control. He spoke of the need for clean elections regarding the fairness of the registration and actual voting processes, but also of the need to reform campaign contributions.

Please be patient about updates to his website as he is truly just getting started. I think that he's just finishing the paperwork to begin accepting contributions, etc., this morning. He called into WDOD this morning and I think that he may be a guest next week.
