Denise Grollmus is asking people to pause & look at Dann's record, I think she has a point
(Denise reports for Cleveland Scene, great in-depth articles)

Pajamagate: Do we really wanna impeach the best attorney general Ohio's had in a long time?

Governor Ted Strickland is certainly making a statement by demanding the immediate impeachment of Attorney General Marc Dann.
....
While it took the Taft administration over six years and $50 million to finally shine a light on its own indiscretions – neatly packaged as “Coingate” – Strickland is smart to take immediate action concerning his own party’s scandal.

However, one has to wonder if calling for Dann’s impeachment isn’t a bit hasty. After all, it’s unclear if there’s even grounds to impeach a public officeholder simply on the fact that he had a perfectly legal, albeit distasteful, affair with a consenting adult. Even Republican House Speaker Jon Husted has noted that it would be a grave mistake to impeach Dann, because it would set a hasty and problematic precedent for the future impeachment of other state officials, according to the Associated Press.

Upon some reflection, here is my problem with Dann resigning - "better the devil you know than the devil you don't".

As someone else pointed out, Subodh is not likely to be the replacement since he is working on Barack's campaign. Dann's replacement could be someone as inept as Petros or Montgomery, and that would be worse than having Dann continue.

After reading Denise's blog, I am a bit conflicted...

1. But, how can he do a good job if the majority of folks who work
for him think it's a good idea for him to resign?

2. If face-saving's what's needed, have Dann go on temporary leave
The common theme under all the trouble in the management of this office was alcohol. If one reads the transcripts with an eye for this, it is very clear.

I still think Dann should resign due to the hostile workplace he helped create however. He cannot effectively re-build trust or credibility, at the very least in the eyes of Ohio citizens. He betrayed women and moreover I believe he betrayed the use of power to which he was entrusted. The current uprising among a contingent of his staff suggests to me he planned even more hiring of friends and buddies into high paying positions, without regard to the existing culture and expertise and needs of the Office. But there seems to be plenty of incompetence to go around down in Columbus these days.

The only thing I remain conflicted over is that we are dealing with a human being here. He deserves compassion like anyone else. People are complicated; situations are complicated. Black/white thinking is what causes the knee-jerk reactions that box people/Parties/organizations in. Just being mad about this doesn't address the underlying human issues that we are basically supposed to be about as a Party. I don't want to villify anyone.... except maybe Dick Cheney and Karl Rove and Henry Kissinger, well I guess there are a few, but Dann's actions simply do not rise to the level of crimes and misdeamenors that should actually be causes for genuine outrage, ex-communication and imprisonment.
