89 and a fighting Columbus, Ohio DEM
Mr. Kelley Is 89 & Angry-He Says He Simply “Can’t Wait” for Election Day.

October 15, 2006
Democrats Have Intensity, but G.O.P. Has Its Machine
By ROBIN TONER

WASHINGTON, Oct. 14 — Clif Kelley, a retired economist from Columbus, Ohio, is the walking, talking, fuming embodiment of what pollsters say is a defining feature of this election: the intensity of Democrats.

Mr. Kelley and a handful of fellow Democrats in Franklin County’s 21st Ward began meeting about two years ago, calling themselves Grassroots 21. Today they have a newsletter, a blog and on one recent Sunday a sprawling audience crammed into Mr. Kelley’s suburban backyard for a rally on a semi-rainy day.

Mr. Kelley reminded his friends that he vowed two years ago he would not die under a Bush administration. “You can see I’ve been holding on,” he said as the audience roared.

Mr. Kelley is 89. And angry. He says he simply “can’t wait” for Election Day.

2. I was at the Ward 21 rally
Amazing. Maybe 300 people crammed into the Kelley's back yard. We got to hear from Ted Strickland (Our next Gov), Mary Jo Kilroy (15th District Congressional Candidate), Jennifer Brunner (Our next Sec'y of State), Sherrod Brown's activist daughter Emily, Congressman Tim Ryan, State Party Chairman Chris Redfern, and others it seems I'm forgetting.

Extremely impressive gathering and it looks to me like the Columbus Dems are definitely on the march.

Cool article!

3. I hope we meet .... someday ... it is winning time.
Time for us to kick the door down and take back our government ...

Please be ready for many dirty tricks and election scams ....
the other side has too much to lose. Man I want these bastards
to pay.

BTW Mary Jo kicked Pryce Ass the other night! Deb was talking
about Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada in trying to say that Ohio wasn't
all that bad.

4. Pryce is going down
Mary Jo's ads have been fantastic and she did great in the debate.

It will indeed be ugly on election day...but methinks the tide is too strong for even the Pubs and their hackers to stop it. They may "fix" a few races but if they try to undo this trend with "Diebolding" there should be riots in the streets this time.

Hope to meet as many local Dems as possible...being relatively new to C-Bus I'm just beginning to get plugged in here. Heading to the Dems victory celebration party downtown on election night!

Thanks again for posting the NYT article...
