Maurice Clarett - what is left to say?
By now everyone has heard the latest, if not, take a peek:
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=2290709

What a douchebag...AND he went screaming through my neck of the woods (Picktown) endangering the late and super early shift workers, putting cops at risk, after what? Trolling Brice Road looking for a place to rob? What person is just out driving with several handguns, an assault rifle, and wearing BODY ARMOR at 3:00 AM, in a BORROWED car? They have officially charged him with concealed weapons, but I am sure felony fleeing will be along shortly, as well as resisting arrest.

Douchebag - you could have been a millionaire. Sorry Broncos fans, your team was going to give him a chance..no way in hell they or anyone else, even the CFL, gives him a ticket. He has been a source of incredible highs and stupidly horrid lows for us Buckeyes..unfortunately, his legacy will be his lows.

2. Yep, and this is just final in a string of poo of his own making
that he smeared upon himself.

What an idiot.

5. Where did he get a college degree? U of Phoenix Online?
Because it sure as hell wasn't The Ohio State University.

7. No degree for him
he barely made it through his freshman year classes, and was, after THE GAME OF ALL GAMES, failing the rest of his classes when he tried to go pro.

He could not pass a pet care class, and has no degree from OSU.

3. I have no sympathy for him whatsoever
Just throw his ass in the can. No more special treatment.

It's a wonder someone wasn't seriously hurt or killed.

4. Damn
Best freshman running back I ever saw .... made one of the greatest
plays I have ever seen ..... running down the intercepted pass in the
national championship game and pulling it from the d.b. ........

but so much against him .... Mom was 14 when he was born ..... lived in
10 + places by the time he was 17 ....... stardom and hangers on .....
and then some really bad moves ..... and then some really stupid moves ....
and then some felony moves.

He just turned 22 ..... and now he will not be out of the joint until
30 or 35. Well at least he will not die on the streets because that
was where he was headed.

6. A loaded AK47, 3 handguns, a hatchet and wearing a bullet proof vest
leads me to believe he was going to KILL on the streets. The city is better off without scum like this on the streets. Good riddance, I hope he gets the book thrown at him.

10. TV report said he was caught near the home of a witness....
...in his robbery trial, but said he didn't appear to be out to hurt anyone.

Another report made the observation that when he was denied the chance to enter the draft early, that's when he began to spin out of control. Mighty costly temper tantrum, IMO.

I just don't understand why those who seemingly have everything -- or everything within their grasp -- often piss it all away.

11. Just another sad story about a kid who had a chance
and for whatever reason, blew it. I don't understand why the school counseling centers can't intervene and help people in these circumstances find a positive path for themselves. IMHO, society has failed this guy.

Lawyer: Clarett has ties to alleged Israeli mobster

Maurice Clarett was bankrolled by an alleged member of an Israeli crime organization after leaving Ohio State, ESPN has learned, and Clarett's attorney said Thursday that his client may have been in possession of firearms last week to protect himself against mob activity.

Clarett's attorney, Nick Mango, said Thursday that Clarett has repeatedly received death threats over the past year but that a cryptic postcard sent from Los Angeles last week has him wondering about Clarett's ties to an alleged mob enforcer.

In the late summer of 2004, ESPN has learned, Clarett traveled to Los Angeles and was introduced by a rapper friend to Hai Waknine, 35, a convicted felon who prosecutors believe is a member of an Israeli crime organization called The Jerusalem Group. Waknine, who at the time was being indicted on extortion and money-laundering charges, became Clarett's sponsor and adviser, along with Waknine's attorney, David Kenner. Waknine provided Clarett with cash, a BMW, bodyguards, drivers and beachfront lodging in Malibu, with the understanding that he would be reimbursed and receive 60 percent of Clarett's rookie contract.
