Continual fund raising new fact of N.H.'s political scene
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The election may be over, but New Hampshire’s political parties are already starting to raise money for the 2006 contests.

The New Hampshire Senate Democratic Caucus — the fund-raising arm of the Senate Democrats — threw a holiday reception in Concord last week.

"It looks like the campaign mode never ends," said Democrat Jim Demers, one of dozens of lobbyists who attended.

The party was an example of the year round, money-raising machine that is now the norm for the state Senate. The new system has raised the cost of Senate elections and given more power to professional consultants.
