8. Actually only 2 of 13 wards conventions are March 19th.
But it does suck if you will be attending one of those.
Maybe you can be done with 7th ward in time for protest.
Does even Goodman have any challengers?

9. AFAIK Goodman's unopposed...
and if she were, she'd probably get endorsed anyway. She's been a great councilmember-- too bad she'll probably retire after her next term (her words).

Who knows, I may be out of town that weekend anyway. My dad's birthday is on the 20th, and I'm thinking about going to AZ to see him. He's in pretty rough shape (had to go on disability) and could use the company. :)

11. Can you believe how long this war has gone on?
When we first protested two years ago, I naively thought it would not last long since there was so much opposition. We cannot be silent, we cannot forget those who have sacrificed so much as pawns of our military leaders.

24. Head Count of marchers leaving Loring Park today 1,500.
Traffic was held up on Lyndale for several stop lights while they crossed the street at Groveland and again when they crossed back on Franklin. AND they spilled into the street on the way back from Franklin and blocked up 1st Ave by the church where the speakers were.

I chased the marchers around because I never found a parking spot! I did go to the speaker rally afterward though. It was ok. The first speaker was great and the others seemed a little shy in front of the audience of about 300 people. Most of the marchers had to plug parking meters so a lot dropped out along the way.
