Do you know where your granparents are?
or for that matter your disabled uncle or severely autistic niece?

Last July in home help PCA/Home Health Aid hours were cut across the board by at least 1/3, and will be cut at least to 1/2 in July AND rates to the companies who hire these folks took a hit and will be hit again in July.

PCA's cannot do any homemaking any longer and Homemakers are limited to 1 to 2 hours a week and of course have to provide their own transpiration at somewhere between $8-12 an hour depending on length of service and training. So that means that wet bed will have to wait in bags until the homemaker gets there in 6 days. And grandpa will have to sit in his poppy diaper for 20 hours until someone gets there. And nobody is watching the sores on their legs, or monitoring their sugar numbers that nurses have to do and nurses are limited in hours and it takes 50 minutes out of every hour for paperwork (really, I am not exaggerating).

Nursing homes also took hits and are pretty much hell to live in and they ship you home to the no help ASAP.

God/dess help us all.
