it hasn't been enough Catholic University St Thomas Law School has on staff Co-Author of pre-torture memo, Prof Robert Delahunty,, the Catholics have to bring in WAR CRIMINAL John Yoo.

(maybe we can send the Catholic Bishops a DVD of torture and what it is sinful)

JLPP Symposium 10-7

Presidential Powers: Prudence or Perversion?

The St. Thomas Journal of Law & Public Policy is proud to host a symposium that brings together some of the nation's most eminent legal scholars on the subject of the President's constitutional powers.

Questions of the scope of the President's powers are more urgent than ever. Among these question is that of finding the true balance between the President's duty to protect the lives and safety of the nation's citizens from catastrophic attacks and the no less imperative duties to respect the prerogatives of Congress and to operate within the limits established by the Bill of Rights.

The first day of the three-day Macalester International Roundtable program on "My Sister's and Brother's Keeper?: Human Rights in the Era of Globalization" (http://www.macalester.edu/igc/roundtable/index.html), there is also a one-day program at the University of St. Thomas Law School on "Presidential Powers: Prudence or Perversion" (http://www.stthomas.edu/law/events/Presidential_Powers.html). Both programs are free. The St. Thomas speakers include John Yoo, Yale Law Professor Akhil Amar, U of M Law Professor Heidi Kitrosser, Hamline Professor David Schultz, and UST Law Professors Robert Delahunty and Michael Stokes Paulsen (http://www.macalester.edu/igc/roundtable/index.html). The St. Thomas program says rsvp to [email protected], but I'm not sure if that's just for CLE credit.
