Exit poll data gives edge to Kerry in Minn.

The final exit poll data for the presidential race in Minnesota data gives the edge to John Kerry.

The poll of 1,640 voters by the National Election Pool found 54 percent for the Democrat, 45 percent for President Bush, and 2 percent for independent candidate Ralph Nader.

In Wisconsin, the race is 48-percent split between Bush and Kerry.

The Minnesota data showed Kerry winning 56-percent of the vote of people who considered themselves independent, compared to Bush's 39-percent. Also 59-percent of voters who considered themselves politically moderate cast ballots for Kerry, compared to 39-percent for Bush.
