Ramstad Not Obama's Drug Czar
http://mnpublius.com/2009/02/ramstad-wont-be-obamas-drug-czar">MN Publius:

The news, which is confirmed by ABC News, means that former Representative Jim Ramstad probably won’t be joining the Obama Administration. This, of course, means that the Rammer will be free to pursue a gubernatorial run in the event that Tim Pawlenty elects not to seek a third term.

If Ramstad runs for Governor, he can't count on campaign contributions from this guy:

1. If Ramstad runs, it will be a hard fight for the DFL
The GOP and the local media will keep repeating the "he's a moderate and often worked with Democrats" meme (especially that he and Wellstone worked together on the mental health bill) until we're all be screaming for mercy. And any DFLer who dares bring up his pro-Bush voting record will be accused of negative campaigning (like Franken was when he brought up Norman's record).
:puke:

2. Can't these people every just GO AWAY?
I can't stand this "moderate" tag about Ramstad. He wasn't and isn't. And didn't he dump his campaign money into Erik Paulsen's campaign so now we're stuck with The Male Bachmann for 2 years (will volunteer and donate so it's only that long)?

I thought he was all "I'm off to work on mental health and help people" which, to me, does not equal running for any elected office or what I think are off-the-record leaks about being considered for "Drug Czar" (is that even a current position?).

p.s. Was Petters always that tan, or is it spray-on?

p.p.s. to Norm: subject line is for you too!
