Coakley race? could you give us in Texas some perspective?
Is it really going to be that close...or is the MSM just wanting to make it close to have something to talk about?

My husband and I are in Texas and are thinking of donating to Coakley.

We don't know anything about her, but we know we can't allow that seat to go red.

I can't imagine a repub winning Kennedy's seat. Is this MSM talk bs?

Is there any word that she needs money?

1. If democrats don't come out to vote, it will be close. If they show up
Brown will lose and maybe handily.

2. ok...so...
is there as much to worry about as it is being portrayed?

I don't see the logic in Dems staying away.

5. Dems seem to stay away unless they're unusually fired up
It's not just Dems, in Massachusetts or the rest of the country. The left does it elsewhere in the world, too.

3. the independent candidate is named kennedy. a normal 'spoiler'
effect would cause most votes for him to come from repugs (he is especially conservative). in this case, the scary question is: will uninformed dems simply vote, impusively, for him?
i read that as many as 5% might do that. but the same article said that that is also a lower-than-usual spoiler effect.

with brown being flooded with money, i am sure coakley could use any donations possible.

maybe you know MA people to spread word that the joe kennedy running is NOT the joe kennedy related to ted? maybe LTTEs to the globe and other MA newspapers?

thank you so much for being activist.

peace and solidarity

4. It's gonna be a close one.
Democrats made some mistakes in the early going--they sat on a 30+ point lead rather than playing ten points down.

Still, with turnout, I think she'll win.

7. It's close. If the turnout is low it is going to be bad.

8. It's not BS
I have a hard time seeing how Coakley is going to pull this out. All the momentum belongs to Brown since he brought his whining daughters out to cry for him and Massachusetts talk radio is a cesspool that has become a 24/7 commercial for Brown.

9. Even NPR is getting in the act. We need a fairness doctrine big time.

10. WEEI allowed Brown on the air twice Friday
A supposed sports station, sucking up to the guy. It was pathetic.

11. Sadly, it is not media bs. And it is snowing here. Plus a 3day weekend.

It's like the perfect storm for low turnout. And the most recent poll (Public Policy Polling) shows him 5 points ahead.
