Collins gossips about Edwards on radio show

U.S. Sen. Susan Collins believes that former presidential candidate and Sen. John Edwards (D-North Carolina) did have a child out of wedlock, according to her comments on a recent Q Morning Show interview.

Edwards recently admitted to having an affair.

The radio hosts brought up the topic before addressing energy and health care issues.

“I feel sorry for his family, because how horrible. But also don’t you think he is the father of the child?” Collins said on the show.

“Of course he is!” the host remarked.

Collins said: “Would he go sneaking into a hotel in the middle of the night to see a child who’s not his? I don’t think so.”

She noted that staff was probably appalled that she was talking about this on air.

“He presented himself as this family man who was devoted to his ill wife, his little children, his older daughter, so the hypocrisy of it,” Collins said. “I try not to judge people’s personal lives because you never know what’s going on, but in this case he so presented himself as something he was not. And when your wife’s going through cancer treatments, I mean geez.”

The hosts tried to wriggle a preferred vice president preference out of Collins, and she didn’t bite – however she did say that she once gave John McCain advice on who not to pick (she wouldn’t say who).

On the Democratic side, Collins said Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Indiana) was a good choice for Barack Obama.

The 20 minute interview was captured on video, and is embedded below. The Edwards remarks were made around the 3 minute mark.

The blog Collins Watch was the first to pick up on the remarks.

2. What a bee-itch!
Along with advocating repuke policies that are bad for Maine and bad for the country (while pretending to be a "moderate") and sidling up to that turncoat Liarman, this reveals her to be gossipy and judgmental as well. What exactly is this woman's attractive side?

3. could we gossip bout her

Lets talk about some of her overseas junkets and who her companion has been.
the lady in red may have several agendas. and the advice she gives may not be all political.
Personally I think we should retire her in November.
