solar panels

more and more businesses and homes are choosing solar panels to assist in their energy needs. once you overcome "mainers" fear of change he will accept the new technology like
he was the inventor.
think about the lobsterman and the depth finder. how I remember the comments about this gimmick(ha ha) but once the youngest started out producing the elders it was deemed acceptable. then you couldn't keep them on the shelves.

1. Funny you should mention them. I looked out my second-storey window today
and noticed for the first time that Stephen King's barn/gym/whatever it is complex roof is COVERED in solar panels. I wonder how well he does using them, and good for him for walking the walk.

2. he's really a nice guy

even though he comes from Durham he's ok. I caught that piece on tv about chewonki and putting solar panels on their summer camps. they have a 3k hydrogen plant and have really
pushed for alternative energy systems that are affordable. It would be great if somebody that has the means like mr KING became one of their benefactors.
It warms my heart to see a foundation that promote youth and education toward sustaining
habitat for future generations.

3. I see more home solar and wind systems in Maine than any place else east of the MS
My SIL was complaining about her oil bill as we were driving through western Maine last summer. I pointed out 8 hot water systems, 2 PV systems and a home wind turbine along a 35 mile stretch.

She was quite surprised that so many people had them (she never looked for them before) and is planning to put in a solar hot water system next year. They put in 2 pellet stoves last year and want to plumb the solar system into their oil burner for hot water.

They are through burning oil....

the brooks are still high around here and I'm craving home fries pan fried trout and eggs.
always cook mine in a cast iron skillet with bacon over a camp fire. umm just what I NEED TO LOWER MY CHLORESTROL!SLAB BACON,FRIED EGGS AND FRIED TROUT.I'll cut the grease with hobo coffee (black). fiddle heads and SALMON with diced tatters and green peppers baked in tin foil was one of dads favorite shore dinners.had that a few times on "west lake" with him when I was a young lad.
I ran tomah stream with him in a canoe when I was a teenager. around memorial day that can
be a good trip if you hit it right.WE always stopped by Jim brown brook and he'd tell me about the whopper my grandfather caught there.
I'M hoping my grandsons will be able to fish it with their boys. I haven't been up there for 10 years. stick mostly to the lakes or easy access streams.
Usually visiting friends and family up that way now.
