(Kline) Leaked Memo Details Strategy ("Get me in their pulpits!")
A leaked memo from Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline lays bare his campaign strategy for the fall: exploit the churches!

Some choice quotes from the memo, as reported by the Lawrence Journal-World:

Get the pastor to invite 5 "money people," whom he knows can help.

Goal is to walk away with contact information, money and volunteers and a committee in each church.

Get me out. Do not schedule me for social lunches. Only working lunches were (sic) we can obtain either media, money or crucial support.

Must rework Joe Wright and Terry Fox . . . Perhaps we can get Dobson by phone. Joe, Terry and Pat must commit to get 5-10 people there who can drop $1,000 to $2,000. This will take a lot of work, contact, work, and contact. This should be early to mid-September. Get me in their pulpits.

Not a surprising strategy from this far-right freak, but such naked cynicism makes this news.

1. What is surprising is that he totally defends this like there is nothing
bad about it. I thought Terry Fox quit because he was having an affair. Or was that Joe Wright?

6. Perhaps this thread has information
In Election Reform there is a thread titled:

WHO is David E. Johnson? And HOW is he gaming the Polls?

This may be important, particularly watching/believing the polls, as both Brownback and Phill Kline are among the top clients of the firm, Strategic Vision, LLC.

Probably no surprise, but this polling firm is a stealth Christian Reconstructionist and Dominionist group. The same type folks who send their kids to places like that shown in the current film "Jesus Camp" (playing locally).

The top of the first post:

I found the firm "Strategic Vision, LLC" while looking for the source of the reports that Tom Kean, Jr. (son of Tom Kean of the 9-11 Commission, and complicit in the DocuDrama "Path to 9/11"). I doubted the numbers with reason, I think. The (small) thread is here.

Today I was wondering about the principals in the firm. On top, I found one David E. Johnson.

And, it appears, I am not the only one who has questioned the "truthiness" of the polls taken by "Strategic Visions, LLC". Please see Unfutz's blog below.

What I wonder is how we happen to couple these polls with the likes of Zogby and Rasmussen when we check our numbers at DU. An example, please see:

"Thursday Poll Dancing: Senate Updates" at today's "Greatest Threads".
