Go Drake Bulldogs!!!
No. 16 in the AP Top 25, No. 14 in ESPN's Power rankings, the third longest winning streak in NCAA men's basketball this season---They're doing this state proud!! Its taken them a long time to get back to the Maury John and Dolph Pulliam days, but I'm sure glad to see it.

I was of the opinion that Iowa State should have fired Larry Eustachy earlier than they did, and hired Dr. Tom to coach, but they just HAD to wait until after Drake hired him. Now, Ia State is on their 2nd coach, and Drake has gone from nowhere to again being ranked. A lot of credit goes to Dr Tom. Yes, his son succeeded him at Drake as head coach, but Keno has managed to get a little more out of the players this year...it really looks good for him. I just hope he stays at Drake, so that we can (eventually) have 4 great men's basketball teams.

I am an Iowa State supporter, and always will be, but I wish I had season tickets to Drake right now!!!

1. Way to go!
I'm an Iowa fan, but hey, they're a hell of a story. A lot of credit goes to the Davises. Hopefully they can keep it up.

2. As an Iowa fan, I look wistfully westward
Toward Des Moines and ask, why in the heck did a lot of Iowa fans want Davis out, only to be replaced with wonderboy alford? Congrats to the Bulldogs and hopefully they can have a good run in the upcoming NCAA's.

3. I had a two hour argument on the way home from Chicago
with a friend about two weeks before Davis was fired. He said, "he can't recruit!" I said, "It doesn't matter, he can teach anyone the game." My friend said, "If we get Alford, you'll see." Guess what...I saw.

5. i remember those arguments
they started to make a comeback in i.c. the last few years in some circles when Alford's teams' struggled and Drake kept showing improvement. Davis can definitely teach the game and I love the full court press

4. Wow
They are truly great shooters and can hustle with the best of them! I too am a State fan, but I'll be glad that we get at least one in to the tourney this year.
