Iowa bankruptcy filings spike
I've been meaning to post this since I read the article in Saturdays, Cedar Rapids Gazette. It was on the front page.

In January 2005, there were 787 bankruptcies filed in Iowa.
In February, there were 1,005 filed.
In March, there were 1,808 filed.
In April, there were 1,532 filed.

Overall, there were 5,132 filings -- an increase of 15.4% over the previous year. March showed the largest increase, 25.3% over the previous year.

In the article three area attorneys were interviewed and they all said business was currently booming due to the bankruptcy reform bill.

1. Ditto here in...
Vermont...don't have the numbers but it was reported on local news this AM. I hope all the ones who are filing have at least one MBNA card!
