New Constitution the best opportunity for reform
A good editorial on why we need a Constitutional Convention.

You want real reform? You want a recall amendment? You want term limits? You want ballot access? You're not going to get it without a constitutional convention.

1. but i don't want a recall amendment. or term limits.
i want real primaries. but that has nothing to do with the law, and everything to do with politics.

i have no desire whatsoever for every democratic governor be hounded out of town on some petty charge, and to have the arnold and the strippers dog and pony show in my state. look, i'm sure blaggo has a lot of flaws, but the truth is that he won two elections. he should serve out his time, and we should quit whining about the effects of the democratic process.
ditto term limits. we have term limits. they are called elections.

if there were a con con, i would want "the majority of funding for schools" to be changed to 50% plus one.
and i would want the old three member districts back. that was fun.

2. It has everything to do with the law.
Campaign finance laws, three member districts, rules rigged to benefit the two parties. We have a state government run by five people and that happened because our constitution has flaws.

I'm not for recall either. I'm for a change in school funding like you are and a con-con could make that happen.

3. Right and Con-Con
Could bring back three-member districts, get rid of legislative gerrymandering done by power hungry legislators, and provide real primaries. I'm kind of surprised you are missing the big picture here.

We have 49 other states to look at and see the success and failure of their laws. This could be a major step forward for Illinois.

Also, I keep seeing you talk about elections, but not campaign finance reform. You don't think this is a problem in Illinois? There's almost no campaign finance rules!
