Bob Barr saying conservatives should not vote for Bush*

because, of course, he hasn't behaved as a conservative.

I hope this is widely circulated in his former district. especially Cobb County.

1. I was going to mess with Passin' Bob when he was here in Athens...
flogging his book last week, but I passed. He has actually been very critical of the bushco administration. Damn shame that he wasn't critical earlier, though :)

3. Barr did speak out against Bush* and made himself a target of theirs

in 2002. He'd probably still be in Congress if he hadn't spoken out against the PATRIOT Act.

Now Phil Gingrey is my rep -- hardly an improvement.

2. I have some sympathy for the true conservative positions, fiscally
Bush is anything but a fiscal conservative. As John Kerry pointed out, he has spent more money than George Washington through Bill Clinton combined. That is amazing. Bush is talking about "tax and spend liberals," when he is a "borrow and spend asshole," without peer. And I thought conservatives were supposed to want to get the government off your back. What about that Georgie? God, I hate George Bush.

4. We're living in very strange times, that's all I can say.

Man forces his way into power, cuts taxes on the rich, runs the government into debt, starts two wars, and still has people supporting him.

5. I am not alone...
Thanks for posting this! I read it yesterday and could not believe that I had to say that Bob Barr got something right. :puke:

I wanted to post the story here, but I am a newbie so I couldn't start a thread. It boggles my mind that more arch-conservatives are not fed up with the shrub. I know, even if they are they can't say so. Makes me feel creepy to be glad that Bob Barr opened his mouth. :wow:

6. Your point about pubs not being able to speak out is true.
I just hope there are a whole lot of them! NOTHING would make me happier than for Shrub to loose Georgia!!!!!!!!!!

7. Shrub to loose Georgia!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately, I can't even dare to dream. Driving into my middle-class subdivision there are TEN homes in a row with B/C yardsigns. And at the North GA State Fair last weekend, I was amazed at the number of very down-and-out looking people who were lugging B/C yardsigns around they got from the Republican booth. It was depressing.

9. There is no way the moron will lose Georgia.
All I see are B/C signs. And other than mine, I have only seen one Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker.

10. I see tons of Kerry/Edwards signs and stickers
but then I'm in DeKalb and work in Atlanta.

Bush won't lose Georgia, but it could be closer than he'd like.

11. There WERE at least 6 Kerry/Edwards signs on my street alone
as of last night. But somehow in the middle of the night, they all mysteriously vanished.

This makes 5, yes that's right 5, signs that have been vandalized or stolen from my yard. I'll be making my own for the fuckers to try to remove that includes the caveat: Attempting to remove this sign will put you in close contact with a Democrat that firmly believes in the right to bear arms. I don't really own a gun, but how would the little Bush Youth know that??

14. Greetings fellow Georgians
Here in Macon I've had my sign stolen 4 or 5 times now. I live downtown, near Mercer campus. I suspect some young, drunk freepers are stealing them. I refuse to be phased or intimidated. Each time one is stolen, I go down to HQ and get another. Eventually, the little creeps will figure out that it's really hard, in a democracy, to suppress freedom of speech (God knows Bush and his minions are trying).

I see plenty of KE signs down here in the city, but very few out in the burbs. Pretty typical, I suppose. Polls say Marshall is creaming Clay, by the way, but I don't believe them. I think this race is gonna be close.

Best to you all. Keep up the good work. We may not go blue this time, but our efforts will slowly move the state in that direction.

-Laelth

13. I live in N. Ga. I see very few b/c signs, and almost no k/e signs.
I haven't put any in my yard or on my car because I don't want to risk damage to either. That doesn't mean that I won't be voting for K/E! I wonder how many others like me are out there?

I'm also afraid to let my mind wander to even think about shrub loosing Ga. I love the excitement of happy surprises, but can't stand the devastation of disappointment.

Thanks for the welcome Dem Bones... I'll always think about you when the song with "Dem Bones Dem Bones" is playing for my toddler in the car!

15. Nice to be thought of and it's a great old song!

When I was trying to think of a user name, I wanted something with Democrat or Dem in it and suddenly "Dem Bones Dem Bones, Dem dry bones," etc. began playing in my mind ;-)
