TALLAHASSEE — Democrat and Republican voters in just 35 of the state's 120 House districts will have a chance to choose their party's nominee for representative in the Aug. 31 primary.
In the other 85 districts, the process is locked up, with one party or the other only putting forth one candidate — and in many cases not having a candidate at all.
A few of those 35 primaries have been hotly contested: a South Florida Republican race that received attention for a flier questioning whether voting machines will work, and a central Florida Democratic primary where some party stalwarts are backing a challenger to the incumbent have drawn attention.
But in most of Florida, voters have already had their party's candidate chosen.
