1. St. Petersburg Times
Retirees to Crist: Veto teacher bill

PDF of front page: http://www.tampabay.com/specials/publication/Times_1A/20100411.pdf

There are tons of editorials against Florida's SB 6. Here's one:

2. PS: Some more articles from FL newspapers
I am the administrator for Tuff-Teach, a site for Pinellas County teachers. Here is the link to the Florida Education News forum, where I post articles relating to education from around the state. Most of the articles and editorials have to do with SB 6 - Jeb's takeover of the public schools.

3. Thank you because the News Journal in Daytona Beach makes no mention.
This used to an independent paper, but it was recently taken over by bankers.

Not sure it it's on the front because I haven't checked the print edition yet.

5. Wow. The Villages are against Jeb Bush's attempt to destroy education. That
makes me feel somewhat more hopeful. I never thought about that angle before. There are many Republicans who were teachers or who have kids what are teachers now. That might help Charlie make the right decision and veto this terrible bill.

6. I cancelled the Orlando Sentinel for its support of SB 6. I encourage EVERY teacher to
do the same. I don't even miss it, though I thought I would. I've noticed that since I cancelled, and several others I know cancelled, Mike Thomas and the Sentinel editorial board stopped bloviating about SB 6.
