Fresno free showing of " Eye Witness Gaza" w/Jewish activits Donna adn Darlene Wallach 5/31
Eye Witness Gaza with Donna and Darlene Wallach. Sunday, May 31 at 3:00 p.m. Unitarian Universalist Church at 2673 Alluvial Ave. FREE.

Eye Witness Gaza is a live presentation about the Free Gaza humanitarian aid mission to Gaza. Questions to follow.

Two Jewish American women, Donna and Darlene Wallach, left their lives behind in San Jose to break the Israeli siege of Gaza. Courageously sailing on the first two Free Gaza boats, SS Free Gaza and SS Liberty, they had no idea of their fate at the hands of the Israeli navy, which has maintained a total sea blockade of Gaza since the 1970s. On August 23rd, 2008, the two boats sailed into Gaza Port to the ecstatic cheers of tens of thousands of Palestinians who lined the docks and crammed into boats to receive them.

2. Darlene Wallach and Donna Wallach
Darlene Wallach and Donna Wallach, Jewish anti-zionist social justice activists, recently returned to the Bay Area after living in Gaza Strip, Palestine from August - December 2008. Along with 41 other human rights workers they broke the Israeli blockade of Gaza onboard the two Free Gaza movement boats, SS Liberty & SS Free Gaza, which arrived to Gaza in August 2008. Darlene and Donna remained in Gaza with four other international volunteers and re-established International Solidarity Movement Gaza Strip. While accompanying Palestinian fishermen and farmers, and living among the people, they witnessed Israeli occupation force soldiers constantly violate the six month June 2008 ceasefire, and perpetrate collective punishment on the 1.5 million Palestinians living in Gaza. Listen to them speak about the spirit, resilience, kindness, generousity, and sense of humor of the Palestinian people and the peaceful ways they survive the brutal and genocidal Israeli blockade and Occupation.
