Donna Frye with slight lead (49%-48%) over Sanders in Survey USA poll
Folks, this race is getting really tight! This is our big chance to make San Diego a blue city! We really need to get the "blue" vote out in November! Need to help Donna amongst the moderates! Remind your middle of the road friends that:

1) Donna has been on record supporting small businesses and other business have land zoned to them stay that way instead of going over to big time developers trying to build expensive housing who are buying off the Republican city council and other mayoral candidates with their contributions. Keeping that land zoned the way it is helps provide more jobs and business for all of us, not overly expensive housing just for the wealthy as a way to pay back favors for campaign contributions, and taking away land that could be used by business to provide jobs here.
2) Donna wants more involvement by the community in decision making. She's trying to make council meetings be at night or on weekends to make them more accessable to the public.
3) In her latest proposal for resolving the pension board mess, etc. she wants to make the mayor more accountable and responsible to lead us out of it, but putting forth key decisions to the public to help her decide and make sure she has the public blessing on anything like new taxes should that be deemed necessary.
4) In her latest proposal, she's also making it clear that she's going to be hard nosed in driving a new deal on the pensions to come to terms that are sustainable, and not necessarily favoring any unions.

Let's put out the extra effort here in San Diego this next month and help her win. With her being outspent three to one, it's going to take a lot of us to help her win this thing!

Here's the poll:

2. Even just getting people out to vote against the props will help!

The more Dems we can get around here to vote against Arnold's props the more Dems we get to vote for her too. And that would also be translated into support for potentially two Dem City Council members being voted on too, to replace those two that resigned.

District 2 (Zuchett's old seat) has currently the Republican Kevin Faulconer leading heavily in fundraising, and who was formerly the big candidate that lost to Zuchett in last election. Many others in the race there, but two leading Dems look to be challenging him more with their fundraising, etc. are Lorena Gonzales and Carolyn Chase. We should decide which of those two would work best to defeat Faulconer and others in that race and put our weight behind that person. Gonzales looks to have more of the Democratic Party endorsements, but Chase looks like she's worth evaluating too.

Lorena Gonzales:

Carolyn Chase:

The other seat is for district 8, to replace Ralph Inzunza. Republican Ben Hueso leads funding there. Remy Bermudez looks to be the biggest standout Dem facing him. We should probably solidify our support for her.

Note that if a 50% or more majority isn't found for these two elections, another election will be held (which will likely include another election if Donna Frye should win for her seat).

Let's get out the vote and turn San Diego Blue!

3. I think Frye will win.
This is the new San Diego and the wind is at the backs of California progressives, but hard work must be continued.
