U.S. Surgeon General Richard Carmona isn't ruling out a rumored run for Arizona governor, although he isn't necessarily campaigning for the job, either.

"I really never saw myself as a politician," he told the Editorial board of The Arizona Republic on Friday during a visit to the Valley.

"I was not looking to do that, but I was not looking to be surgeon general, either.

"So I'm not saying I wouldn't (be interested in running) in the future, but right now the president is happy with me as surgeon general.
