Benson campaigners, did any of you run into THIS reaction?

That is, Democrats who couldn't let it go that Diane made some tough comments about the party when she was running as a Green in 2002?

I've caught wind of some of that down here, and wonder if it was in the air in the places where the rest of you were working?

And I wonder if there is any way, if Diane were interested in running again, that we could have her do some face time with some Dems to try to clear the air and mend fences about that.

I think this is important because getting Diane to run again is our best shot at taking the seat in 2008. Without her, we basically have to start from scratch.

1. I didn't run into any of that up here...

...but then I don't get out much. :) I saw Diane with Jake Metcalfe a few times and it looked to me like any hard feelings between the two of them, at least, had been resolved. I agree with you that Diane's our best shot. I just hope she feels up for it again, and that Kris would come back up to help her, because I thought he did a fantastic job.

And remember, that old dirtball Don Young brought that up during one of the appearance they made together.

She did GREAT.. but the way it is right now.. I'm not going to say she's our "best" shot for '08..

I like Diane a LOT, but I seriously think that Ethan Berkowitz can easily bring down slimebag Young in 2 years. I just do.

Berkowitz would be an attack dog against that slime-bucket!

I'd say the same thing if Eric Croft ran.. but I don't think he'd be willing to live in D.C. half the year.. Too many family ties to this area.

If Ethan doesn't run.. I'd like to see Diane try again!

If Diane or Ethan don't run.. How about Ellis or Doogan?

I still think Ethan will go for it though.

3. Hey, I'm fine with Ethan if he wants to do it...

...plus I'm not so sure that Diane will have the motivation to run again in two years. My only concern is that the Democrats continue to run good, strong candidates who will give Young a real run for his money. It's shameful that so many years went by with such weak Democratic opposition. Ethan was my representative, I have a lot of respect for him, and I know he's a hard fighter. That's good enough for me.
