2008 Starts Now!
A few minutes ago I saw pop-up ad for the neoconservative mouthpiece of PNAC, The Weekly Standard.

The ad displayed two possible scenarios of their first post election edition, one where it said something like "Victory" and it had a triumphant picture of chimpy, but that's not really my point.

The scenario where Kerry wins has a picture of Kerry and the headline is the "The Nightmare Begins" but under it is the article that will be written by Fred Barnes (faux news whore) and its titled "2008 Starts Now!"

This made me realize that winning this election is just the battle, the minute old dubs concedes, the war will have just begun.

I saw it in 1976, the Republicans campaigned every day against Jimmy Carter, sometimes Democrats even joined in, every day was like mid October of an election year, and their strategy worked.

We saw it in the 1990's, baseless character assassinations against Bill Clinton, his wife, and his young daughter, these people have no morals and no decency. It culminated in a BS impeachment.

Every day of the Kerry administration the RW media machine will throw everything they have at him. No one will remember that it was bush who started the quagmire in Iraq, it will be Kerry's burden.

If you thought they were bad in the 1990s, you ain't seen nothing yet, because the only thing they'll have left are dreams of 2008.

1. By 2008 I SINCERELY hope
that the 'fairness doctrine' will be re-established, and that the FCC will have it's teeth attached to more than Janet's boob.

If that is the case, and we can therefore have a 'free press' albeit corporate, then I have no concerns about 2008.

2. Oh, no kidding
our work has only just begun after the election. We have to do our best to get more Dems elected and keep our voices heard. Kerry is going to have a terrible time trying to undo all the damaged caused by Dumbya in just four short but horrible years, and he certainly won't be anywhere near out of the woods in 2008. We have to remain ever vigilent because the repukes will never let up.

I want Kerry to get the momentum going so that Barack Obama can be president in 2012. That would be a dream come true.

5. Edwards/Obama in 2012
I think Edwards will make a strong enough VP to let him shoot for the Presidency after Kerry, but I wouldn't dream of anybody else but Obama being his VP.

3. I'm ready.
Defeating Bush won't defeat the fascists. All we're doing is holding off the New Bush Order for another four years. That's why we can't stop and celebrate. We must remain the fighting force we are right now, not only to get Bush out of office, but to make sure NOBODY LIKE HIM EVER TAKES OFFICE AGAIN.

7. That's how a lot of Dems felt after Nixon resigned
and we finally removed the Nixon cabal from power in 1976. I serously thought that I wouldn't live to see another Republican president after that.

I just couldn't believe that four years later Americans would give the GOP the keys to the WH.

Past experience doesn't make me very confident that the people won't fall for their dirty tricks again.

4. Good point
And when Kerry wins we should be saying the same thing. Of course they will be doing everything possible to show Kerry in a bad light. We've got to get on our Dem representatives to fight back and help Kerry.

8. They'll be blaming all of
Bush's misdeeds on Kerry. Just like with Clinton. Anything good that happened when Clinton was in office was a result of daddy Bush, anything bad was Clinton's fault. Anything good after Clinton left office was baby Bush's doing, anything bad was still Clinton's fault.

And this time it will be even worse because the hole Dumbya dug is so freaking deep.

don't forget that...

And for them this is a constant revolution

If they loose ALL, and I mean ALL... it will be even more bitter
