Alan Keyes Has A LESBIAN DAUGHTER!!!
from electoralvote.com:

Family values, Part II: Marylander Alan Keyes, who is running for senator of Illinois, has based his entire Senate campaign on the theme that homosexuals are sinful, selfish people. He even condemned Cheney's lesbian daughter, Mary. Guess what? Keyes own 19-year-old daughter, Maya, is also a lesbian and has been outed. The story is all over the blogosphere. One good place to look is www.politics1.com, one of my favorite political blogs. Another favorite of mine is www.politicalwire.com.

LOL!! Couldn't happen to a more deserving Son Of a Bitch, if you ask me!! I love it!! Whaddaya say NOW, Alan??

1. 'Deserving son of a bitch' ?
I'm confused about your post. You make it sound like you're glad he's got a gay daughter, as if it were some sort of punishment or stigma.

I'm hoping I just misunderstood your text and that you're glad his hypocrisy has been exposed ?

Thanks ~

I'm glad he has a gay daughter, because now he has to reconcile all of his hate-spewing against GLBT people with the fact that HIS OWN DAUGHTER is a lesbian...and reconcile THAT with his "family values" bullshit rhetoric.

I, myself, am transgender.

I am sick of these hypocritical assholes who bash people like me and my gay/lesbian/bi/trans brothers and sisters, using code words like "family values" and then it comes out that ONE OF THEIR OWN FAMILY is, themselves, GLBT. Shows exactly what kind of a fucking hypocrite Alan Keyes and Dick Cheney are!

And THAT is why I'm glad. THAT is why Alan Keyes deserves this! It shows what a snake-oil salesman, what a duplicitous bastard, what an absolute total fucking hypocrite this low-life scum from Maryland is!!

GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol, I just love these fucking Repukes..."Family Values," my ass!! First Jack Ryan, and now Alan Keyes!! You just gotta LOVE this shit!!

2. Hypocrites
Cheney's daughter, Newt Gingrich's half-sister, now this.
Locally in GA, the president of the GA Christian Coalition has a lesbian daughter.

These people are the worst of the worst of hypocrites. Preach family morality, yet turn your back on your own family.

11. I kind of wonder if the failed father figure
thing comes in to play here. If I had any of those guys as a father I'd want nothing to do with men.

3. So does Dickless Cheney but past the fact that these people
are such loud mouths against gay rights and that goes to demonstrate their hypocrisies, I really don't care.

6. I certainly
feel sorry for his daughter. What chance does she have to be embraced by her father, to have him say, "You're still the same person you were before I knew you were gay, and I love you forever!"

Asshole.

8. Seriously. Poor girl.
I feel for her.

I wonder if some of these gay relatives of conservative politicians have formed some sort of informal "support group," or if they feel like they can't network for some (perceived or real) fear of hurting their loved ones.

7. It goes beyond hypocrisy to a vast sense of status and entitlement
Edited on Wed Sep-29-04 09:05 AM by LizW
I read an essay this morning by Marian Wright Edelman in which she said:

"One of the reasons I believe so many millions of children are left behind -- in the United States and in our globalizing world -- is that too many in power and of privilege distinguish between their own children and other people's children."

I think this is profound. One reason George Bush can start a war of choice and send young people off to die based on lies and greed is that he believes his own children are of a special group that will never have to go and die. Dick Cheney can support policies that would make people like his daughter into second-class citizens because he believes his daughter is of a privileged class and that such discrimination will not touch her. Many Republicans oppose reproductive choice with the knowledge that the absence of choice will never impact their daughters' lives.

If every leader made decisions with the knowledge that the decision would immediately and directly affect his or her own children, this country (and world) would be a different place.

10. this reminds me of a quote from Angels in America:
Roy Cohn: No. Like all labels they tell you one thing, and one thing only: Where does an individual so identified fit into the food chain, the pecking order? Not ideology or sexual taste, but something much simpler: clout...<snip> ... who will come to the phone when I call, who owes me favors. This is what a label refers to. Now to someone who does not understand this, a homosexual is what I am because I have sex with men, but really this is wrong. A homosexual is somebody who, in 15 years of trying cannot get a pissant anti-discrimination bill through the city council. A homosexual is somebody who knows nobody and who nobody knows. Who has zero clout. Does this sound like me Henry?
