1. Yes.
Prior to the first question being asked, Edwards approaches Cheney's podium, produces a baseball bat and BEATS THE LIVING SHIT out of Dick Dastardly. Afterward, he turns to the camera and says: "Now folks, THAT'S the way you fight a war on terror!"

Game on.

8. Edwards could get away with that
if he does his big smile afterwards.

2. I just want to see Cheney...
foaming at the mouth, spewing venom, spit flying out of his mouth, telling everyone "vote for us or die" while pounding the podiium like a psychotic lunatic. I have total faith in JE's abilities to bring Cheney to the point of madness on national television.

3. We should probably stop using the word 'debate'
for the upcoming 'side by side' stump speech excerpts. None of them will remotely resemble real debates. As Uncle Walter used to say, "that's the way it is." Too bad for us.

There's a reason that Cheney has been doing all his speeches out on the hustings sitting down. He works best in an 'intimate' situation and he's been getting in a lot of practice for his 'sit down' with JE. I hope JE is studying the Lieberman debacle closely. John is not Joe and won't fall into the 'two pals talking' trap, but he needs to find a way to attack...ugh...Amurika's grandfather. Big Time. Alas, there won't be much room to maneuver.

6. Lookswise it's another
Kennedy v. Nixon -- the handsome telegenic guy versus the ugly repuke. Only in this case the repuke isn't just ugly, he's a mean, snarling old bastard -- the kind of nasty old fart who has a terrible reputation in the neighborhood -- the guy down the block who keeps the porch light off on Halloween while he sips scotch and curses kids in the dark. Edwards will have a field day.

7. Edwards is the underdog...he's never had a debate
ever. Still, Edwards is one of the best trial lawyers out there. He will watch every Cheney speech, every debate, and will prepare. Edwards will never allow the debate to end up like the lovefest Lieberman allowed. I will never forgive Lieberman for that one. He failed as a candidate in that debate.

9. Maybe he needs to approach it like
he's taking the crooked CEO's deposition.
